Mainstream Porn vs Real life sex

As an REBT therapist, I'm constantly introducing the idea that sex and porn don't MAKE one act or feel a certain way, but one's beliefs or expectations around sex and porn can.  Which means porn is not harmful to you, or your porn-loving partner!  Of course if you are comparing yourself or your sexual performance to simulated mainstream sex, you may feel disconnected or inadequate.  You also may be under the impression that achieving an orgasm is as easy as pushing a button (Well, typically it isn't).

I can't speak to the accuracy of the statistics in the video, but I appreciate how it differentiates (without shaming) mainstream porn and real sex.  I am adding "mainstream" to describe (heterosexual) porn, for that is what the video alludes to, and not the only type of porn out there.  Thankfully, more and more realistic depictions of sex are becoming available to us online, featuring real sex, real bodies and the range of gender expression and sexual orientation.
