It seems human beings don't like to be jealous. Some of us don't prefer it, and some of us can't stand it! Or, so we assume. Did you know some of us can deal with it? And we deal with it the same way we do the myriad of emotions we don't like? As a therapist in New York, I can't help but agree that monogamous couples typically struggle with jealousy more than those in open relationships. Does that mean that couples in consensually non-mongamous relationships don't get jealous? No, they certainly can, but they actually learn to communicate, process, move on and be happy.
