Transgendered - a transgendered person identifies and will may express a gender that is not congruent to his or her biological sex.
CISgendered - a cis-gendered person identifies and expresses a gender that is congruent to his or her sex. That is, someone who is not transgendered.
Just because someone identifies as transgendered and is partnered with someone of the same biological sex, does not mean they identify as gay.
Gender expression operates on a continuum.

Note from Deanna - Although NYC is one of the most diverse and inclusive cities in the world, not every therapist is equipped to handle every individual that walks through the door. The therapists at the Offices of Dr. DeMarco are prepared to address the needs of an ever-changing and diverse population. Whether you identify as straight, gay, bi, queer or trans; whether you are the parent of or partner to; whether you are in a monogamous, polyamorous, or other "non-traditional" relationship; we are here.
