How do we condition our thoughts?

Transient

Love this comic I came across on Pinterest!

Our client on the right pretty much says that his worrying, 95% of the time, leads to nothing. It's a great example of how we tell ourselves a narrative that often doesn't yield our desired outcome, yet we still do the thing we know we don't want to be doing, in his case: worrying!

In therapy we work with client to get to the underlying beliefs associated with our thoughts, feelings and behaviors, so that once we name them, we can then test out how that belief has been serving us positively or leading us to feelings, thoughts and behaviors we're unhappy with.
