My name is Brittany and I am currently enrolled in the Mental Health Counseling Master’s Program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. As of Winter 2012, I became a Rape Crisis Advocate. Through this experience I was able to learn about myself and discover my true passion for pursuing a career in therapy. When I am not in school or meeting with clients, I escape into dance. I have been dancing since the age of two and it has been something that has allowed me to express myself and clear my mind. I have always found it necessary to find one thing that makes you truly happy and to make sure you have the time for it. As an undergraduate at SUNY Albany, psychology and counseling were the only subjects to spark my interest. Being able to understand the human mind and all of its functions is fascinating. My goal is to provide people with the basic tools they need to better themselves and to reach a healthy mental state.
